iCommit Campaign reaches Buraimi

As a part of ”iCommit” campaign activities launched by the Public Authority for Electricity and Water in March, the activities in governorate of Buriami was launched on Monday 11th April 2016 and will last for three days.

The program was held under the patronage of His Excellency Ibrahim bin Said bin Ibrahim Al Busaidi, Governor of Buraimi in the presence of number of Excellencies , esteemed general managers , heads of government institutions and academics. The activities continue for three days. The function was held at the University of Buraimi.

The events which will continue for 3 days, started on Monday by a presentation about PAEW vision and objectives. It was presented by Eng. Nasser Algassai, Operations Manager for Burimi Governorate. He said “The speech of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said when he said , "The preservation of the water is a sacred duty and we will be held responsible in the future if we do not do our duty now towards this resource." It is clear evidence of the keenness of the government efforts to conserve water, and it was incumbent on the PAEW according to its vision "To ensure the provision of high quality, sustainable and reliable potable water and power services to all people in the Sultanate of Oman." in doing all efforts to achieve the vision of the government in this aspect . Eng. Abduallah al-Shamsi, Head Section of Maintenance presented a visual presentation on major achievements of the Authority. Then Eng. Laila al-Esaai, Head Section of Water Quality in Buraimi governorate had a visual presentation about the quality and its policies and the most prominent Quality indicators, specifications and standards approved by the government of Oman in water quality and the importance of water chlorination.

On the second day 18th April 2016 vitnessed the opening of the exhibition at the University of Buraimi. A number of students from the university and school students has visited the exhibition.

Today 19th April 2016, there will be a exhibition at Lulu Hypermarket, Buraimi. The exhibition contains publications and tips on how to Save Water which are offered to the public and visitors to the exhibition.
